Before the session
We start with the practical details: who will be photographed, the ages of the children, the kind of location you prefer and the feeling you want from the images. We also discuss timing and clothing so that everything works together rather than being decided on the day.
During the session
A standard Family Story session is designed around connection rather than constant posing. We will give direction when it helps, especially at the beginning, but much of the session involves walking, talking, playing and allowing small interactions to happen naturally.
What if we feel awkward?
Most people do. You do not need to know where to put your hands or how to smile on command. Good direction should feel simple enough that you stop thinking about the camera. We focus on actions and interaction rather than asking people to hold a frozen pose.
What happens after the shoot?
The photographs are carefully selected and edited for a consistent warm, natural finish. Standard Family Story sessions include 30–40 professionally edited photographs delivered through a private online gallery, with high-resolution and social-ready downloads.
